Building Healthy Habits + New Logo Design
Building habits is something that has always been difficult for me no matter how big or small that habit is. I recently made a commitment to make my bed every morning. In just a few months, it has now become a habit that I do every single day. Although that new habit is quite small, it’s been so interesting to see what I’ve gained from doing it. I instantly feel more productive, I feel like our room is clean and it has made me realize that I can build new habits if I just commit to them long enough until it becomes a part of my daily routine without having to think about it.
Since having Davis, I have seemed to care more and more about the general health of my family. I want to be a good example to him when he’s older of someone who lives a healthy lifestyle in all areas of my life. The start of a new year is always a good time to make some changes. This year I wanted to really be intentional with the new habits I wanted to build. I also wanted to make sure they were attainable so that I wasn’t setting unrealistic expectations.
In this post, I will be sharing some healthy habits that I intend to build this year and continue to do from now on.

Healthy Habits:
Cleaning Up My Diet
As many of you saw on my Instagram stories, I have switched over to a primarily plant based diet. My motivation behind making this drastic transformation in my diet is mainly due to being proactive about some health issues that run in my family. I have never had a very nutritious diet and in just three weeks of adding in so many more fruits, vegetables and grains, I already feel like I have so much more energy and generally feel better on a daily basis.
Here are some of my favorite plant based cookbooks that I have been using to help with recipe ideas!
30 Minutes of Activity a Day
This is the hardest one for me. Working out and being active has always been very difficult for me. Instead of putting so much pressure on working out, I’ve been easing myself into it by going on walks and even dancing around the house with Davis, haha!
Replacing Screen Time with Reading Before Bed
Before bed, I tend to spend time my time on my phone. I simply want to switch this out with reading to help promote a better night of sleep.
Being More Present with My Family
With social media being my job, I feel like I am always on my phone. I have been a bit careless about being on my phone when I am with Cody and Davis. I mainly catch myself being on it when we are all in the car together or at meals. Time with them is so precious, which is why I want to be more present with them and more intentional about staying off of my phone.
Building healthy habits takes time and self-discipline. I’ve been making sure to give myself grace as I build these new habits in the my life so that I do not feel defeated and give up. I hope this has inspired some of you to build some healthy habits in your own life!
