TOP 12 MOST USED BABY PRODUCTS
(products are not in any particular order)
- Baby Bjorn Bouncer – This has been a life saver for me! I use this most when he is active and I need to do things around the house. I love that it is so easy to move around the house! Whenever I cook dinner, take a shower, clean, etc. – I just put him in the bouncer and he was good to go! It’s also great for reflux babies since it is elevated. Make sure they have a little neck strength first! Also, I’ve learned that with any baby seat or bouncer, it’s important to give them a few tries to get used to it. Davis hasn’t liked his bouncers/seats at first every time, but after a few tries, he typically ends up loving them! Pro Tip: Get this toy attachment from Amazon that attaches on to this bouncer or stroller!
- Boppy Pillow – Let me just start by saying that I used this as a cushion to sit on my first week postpartum and it was magical. I believe the original intent for this pillow was for feeding, but since I was exclusively pumping for his first 3 months, I never used it for that! Now we use it everyday for him to sit in to practice that neck strength! This is a great option to have for when they do not want to take a nap, but are content on their own. You can also flip them on their tummies to use it for tummy time! This pillow has so many purposes and is definitely another must have!
- Hatch Sound Machine – This is a definite must have! You can control this sound machine from your phone, which is amazing so that you do not have to risk waking baby up from going into the nursery! It has a variety of sound and light options to choose from!
- Baby Humidifier – Having a humidifier is definitely important for having a new baby at home! Not only is it an easy to use humidifier to keep moisture in baby’s room, it also is a nightlight and essential oil diffuser. It has chic, subtle appearance unlike most other humidifiers.
- Owlet Sock – I originally wasn’t even going to register for this, but ended up adding it last minute and someone graciously bought it for us and we are so extremely thankful for it, especially after being in the NICU for 48 days where we became so used to looking at monitors. I did not realize how scary it would be going to sleep while your baby is asleep. This wearable sock monitor keeps track of their heart rate and oxygen levels while they sleep.
- Nordstrom Baby Blanket – This blanket comes in white, blue and pink. I randomly bought this blanket at one of our first trips to the mall because it was cold and I forgot a stroller blanket for Davis. It soon became our favorite and I even bought a second one. I actually own a ton of blankets and I use this one pretty much any time I need one. I also love the Little Giraffe blankets, but this one takes the cake. The stretchy material makes it easy to swaddle them in it too!
- Baby Bjorn Carrier – This carrier has been a huge help to us! I actually just ordered this a couple weeks ago because after many attempts, Davis did not like the wraps at all. I do also have this Ergo Omni 360 Carrier, but I wanted something smaller that would be convenient for traveling. So far, I am so happy with this carrier and so is Davis! It is extremely easy to use and very comfortable for me (and Davis!). It holds babies up to 25lbs and comes in a few other colors! It’s a great price for the quality and usefulness of this product.
- Activity Gym – I get questions about this activity gym every time someone catches a glimpse of it on my Instagram stories. Probably because it’s one of the few neutral activity gyms out there. Davis loves this activity gym! I’m able to leave him laying down on it for a good amount of time. We also use it for tummy time! I love that I can leave it out in the living room and it doesn’t stand out!
- Wubbanub Pacifier – I always told myself I wouldn’t buy those goofy pacifiers with the animals on them and here I am putting them on my top list of baby items – HA! The main reason why I love these is because the weight of the animal helps keep it in his mouth much better than a regular pacifier. It’s also nice having the animal because it makes them super easy to find in a room or in your diaper bag! Davis loves holding onto the animal and it is just the sweetest! Pro Tip: I suggest getting this puppy one compared to other animals. I have tried the elephant, but it is top heavy and the animal falls over easily causing the pacifier to come out of his mouth. The puppy is nice and flat and helps to keep it in!
- Portable Sound Machine – This chargeable sound machine is a must have! I use it all around the house whenever Davis falls asleep and always throw it in my diaper bag to have it on the go. I ended up buying a second one so that I could just leave one in the house and keep the other in my diaper bag. Whenever he is in his carseat, I put this sound machine in there with him!
- Nuna Leaf Baby Seat – I purchased this seat a few weeks after he got home after seeing my friend Arin (@arinsolange) share it on her stories with her new baby girl. I originally had received one of the Graco baby swings, but Davis was not liking it. He still only lasts in that swing about 10 minutes tops before he starts screaming to get out. The Nuna Leaf does NOT move on it’s own. It sways side to side when pushed and is slightly raised. Davis doesn’t always love to be completely flat! I love that he can play in this seat and often will just fall asleep in it. It is definitely pricey, but worth it to me!
- DockATot – This is yet another item that I didn’t have on my registry because I refused to have someone spend $175 on something that seemed so simple to me. After being convinced by some friends, I ended up buying one myself soon before Davis was born and I am so glad that I did. We use this multiple times every single day. I love that it is so portable and a cozy, safe option for them to lay down or sleep around the house. We mostly just keep it on our couch as a spot to “dock” him. We have the white one and although it has already been spit up on many times, it is so easy to take off and wash!
