Spring Trend: Embroidery + Styling Tips

One of this season’s hottest trends is embroidery. Embroidery is being seen on tops, dresses, jeans, shoes – you name it!  I wanted to share with y’all why I love this trend along with some embroidered pieces that I have my eye on for spring and summer!  If you know me or have followed my blog for very long, you’ve probably noticed that I do not venture off into bold patterns and colors very often, but embroidered items are my exception and here is why!

I love that can embroidery can be boldly used on a basic item, such as the dress in my pictures. I am all about purchasing products that I can get a lot of use of and wear often, so I am loving that this trend can be used on everyday pieces. The boldness of this pattern and color are slightly out of my comfort zone. I almost did not even try this dress on but as soon as I saw myself in it, I felt so confident and was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked the embroidered detailing!

Styling Tips:

Keep It Simple – When it comes to embroidered items, my biggest recommendation I can give you for styling is to showcase that specific piece! Whether it is a boldly colored embroidery, or a more subtle embroidered piece, I would style the rest of your outfit so that this pieces stands out on it’s own. With my own personal style, I’m never one to get too busy with an outfit. If I have a statement piece, it’s almost always my accessories rather than the clothing. With this trend, it’s the clothing that you want to stand out!

Take a Risk – For those of you that may be more similar to myself in styling (usually wearing simple pieces with statement accessories), I just want to encourage you to take a risk and try an embroidered item! I had to convince myself that it’s okay to take a risk in your wardrobe here and there! As long as you feel confident in what you are wearing… then I say ‘go for it!’
