We’re Moving to Dallas!

It’s true! Cody and I are moving to Dallas, TX! And soon! If there’s anything you are going to read from this post, let it be this: GOD IS FAITHFUL.

Cody and I have been praying about this next step in our lives since we got engaged. If you are a friend of ours, you know we have wavered back and forth on where we would move to next. As tempting as it is to just move somewhere and figure it out, that plan would not work for us. We needed to wait on Cody’s next job and that’s exactly what we did. About 2 weeks ago we received an unexpected call from the company that Cody had so badly been wanting to work for with a job opportunity in Dallas. Dallas was one of our very top choices of where we wanted to move and didn’t even think Dallas would be an option for us because the company that Cody had been applying for was not headquartered there. Cody is from Houston, so needless to say he is thrilled to be back in Texas! We are so excited to be in driving distance to Cody’s entire family, whom we are very close with.

As soon as we received this call, I knew it was just all part of God’s wonderful plan for us. To make us wait, to force us to trust on Him alone, and to give us exactly what we had dreamed of for so long. While we were in London, we were at dinner with my whole family (keep in mind it is EXTREMELY rare for us all to be together), and Cody received a call that he got the job! Needless to say, tears of joy were everywhere! It was so special to hear this news with my entire family together. I mean, how GOOD is GOD?!

I had always wanted to move to Texas. Even before meeting Cody, I had been to almost every major city in Texas and felt at home each time. I had looked at going to school in Texas, but was not ready to be so far from my family.

Now that we are back home, we are in full force packing mode! Cody will be moving July 12. I will be going with him to help settle in and do some apartment hunting! We plan to rent an apartment for a bit in the Uptown area (if all goes to plan), so that we are not rushed to buy another house. I will return shortly after to come back to St. Louis and sell our house! Prayers that it sells quickly!

I am beyond excited for this new adventure with Cody (and the pups), but am also so nervous, anxious, stressed, and scared. As many of you know, I have lived in St. Louis my entire life. My parents still live here and we spend so much time with them. Mom and Dad – if you’re reading this: please move to Texas! Thanks! šŸ™‚ But in all seriousness, I know that it will definitely be a hard transition for myself at times. I do not do well with uncertainties (my job, where we will live, how long will our commute be, how long will we be in an apartment, finding a church, etc.), but I am trying my best to trust God’s wonderful plan for us in this next chapter of our lives in Dallas.

On another note, it goes without saying that I am so proud of my husband, Cody. He has worked so hard for this. I love that he works so hard to provide for our family. I admire him for how committed he is to any job he has and am so excited for this new job for him! He deserves it!

That’s about all I know for now. The rest is all in God’s hands. We both ask for prayer during this time as moving can be very stressful, especially since we will be apart from each other for an unknown amount of time until our house sells.

Here are some scriptures that have comforted me during this time. I hope they may encourage you in your own season of life as well! Blessings!

XO,

HILLARY
