Every woman’s (and my husband’s) obsession: SHOES. Okay, okay – maybe shoes are not EVERYONE’s obsession, but I know I have some fellow shoe loving friends on here! I have been crushing on so many shoes with so many different styles for Spring so I wanted to share some that I love with YOU! I own all of the shoes that I will be sharing, so I will be providing you with as much as I can about fit, ideas for styling, and other information about the shoe! Happy shoe shopping, ladies! Enjoy!

What I look for when I am buying shoes

Before we get started, I wanted to share with you all a bit about what I am looking for when I pick out shoes. First and most important is comfort! I have Plantar Fasciitis in both of my heels. This causes extreme pain in my heels that is most often described as a “stabbing” pain from inflamed tissue. I was in a boot at one point because I had actually fractured my heel. The pain is in and out. On a daily basis it doesn’t bother me, but if I wear shoes without any arch support for a while, the pain will come back real quick and it is awful. Anyway – what I’m trying to say is that COMFORT is my #1 requirement for shoes.

You might be thinking to yourself… wait a minute – she has foot problems and she’s always wearing heels? My pictures often are showcasing looks for date nights, an evening out, etc. For the other 99% of the time, I wear shoes or sandals that have a bit of arch support. But when I do wear heels, they still HAVE to be comfortable (as comfortable as a heel can get, that is). You will be seeing a lot of block heels and wedges because those work best for me! I do NOT last long in pumps, although (of course) I do still own a few pairs 🙂

Another aspect that I look for with shoes is making sure that they are either a neutral color or if they are a color, it’s one I can treat as a neutral. Example: these light blue block heels (seen in the above pictures) technically are not a neutral but since they are a softer color, I can wear them with SO much. Blush is another example of a softer color that I can treat as a neutral for Spring.  I have to REALLY be obsessed with a shoe for it to be a brighter color and I usually will not spend a lot on these.

Speaking of spending… I definitely look for quality when it comes to shoes and I’ve had some luck with finding good quality shoes that do not break the bank! We all know that shoes are not cheap, so it’s important to make sure you feel like they are a good quality before buying them, especially if they are a pair you know you will wear for a while. Every once in a while I will buy a cheaper pair of shoes, but I tend to only buy cheaper ones if they are more on the trendy side or are a bold color!

Okay, enough blabbing – let’s look at some Spring shoes! I’m going to break them into two categories: “What I Own” and “What I Want”

Spring Shoe Roundup

  • Fit: true to size
  • Styling: These are SO easy to style. I have actually been surprised with how many times I’ve worn this shoe! I typically wear these with white jeans, but I’ve also worn them with a dresses and denim skirts!
  • About the Shoe: The block heel provides so much extra comfort and support for heels. I love that the block heel has stuck around and has not just been another trend. These shoes also come in eight OTHER colors! I have my eye on the yellow ones since they are just $60 with free shipping and returns!

  • Fit: true to size
  • Styling: My favorite espadrilles yet! I wear these mostly with white or blue denim. These would also look adorable with casual spring dresses or jumpsuits!
  • About the Shoe: These espadrille wedges NAILED IT in terms of comfort. I personally love the white, but if that is not your thing, they come in three other neutrals so check them out! Oh, and they are SUCH a great price for the quality!

  • Fit: true to size
  • Styling: I’ve had these Jack Roger’s for a couple of years now and have definitely gotten my money’s worth! I wear these mostly with brighter dresses to show off the metallic gold coloring. They also look darling with white jeans and a bright top!
  • About the Shoe: These Jack Roger’s are only $100 with free shipping and free returns. I promise you they will go a mile in your wardrobe!

  • Fit: The Nordstrom website says true to size but I actually had to go down a half size in these (I’m typically a 7.5 and had to get these in a 7)
  • Styling: THEY GO WITH EVERYTHING! I wear these the most with blue jeans and a cute top!
  • About the Shoe: They come in a blush color as well and I went back and forth on which color so many times because they are both so versatile! Oh, and they are definitely the most comfort wedges I’ve ever owned since they are a platform. It basically feels like you are wearing comfy flats… WINNING!

  • Fit: True to size
  • Styling: These slides are perfect to jazz up your outfit of the day! I’ve been wearing these mostly with denim shorts or casual dresses! I like to throw them on when I’m running around on the weekends or going to something during the day!
  • About the Shoe: Okay, buying these was totally on a whim! I didn’t even think twice about buying these because of the price ($40) and the style! I typically don’t buy things like this but I have been shocked how much I’ve worn them already and COMPLETELY shocked about the comfort. They have really good arch support! YAY!

  • Fit: True to size (If you like your flip flops a little more snug like me, go down half a size)
  • Styling: I wear these casually with leggings or I dress up a casual weekend outfit by wearing these with denim shorts or pants. You literally can’t go wrong styling these! The options are endless.
  • About the Shoe: I do not think I have a shoe that I have worn more than my Tory Burch Miller’s. Yes, they seem like a splurge (and they are) but I promise you, you will wear them SO much. They are popular for a reason, people! I have this color along with the black patent leather. I have my eye own the “Makeup” color next!

  • Fit: True to size
  • Styling: I wear these mostly with denim shorts and a simple top! The color is a little more out there for me, but this is a perfect example of when I buy a cheaper shoe to try out the color! I’ve received endless compliments on these darling bow suede espadrille sandals!
  • About the Shoe: These are from ASOS and are my first pair of shoes from them. I’ve been very impressed with the quality for the price. For those of you that are not familiar with ASOS, it is an online store that has free shipping and free returns… YAY!

  • Fit: True to size
  • Styling: Again, I wear these mostly with any sort of denim! I’ve also worn them with rompers and casual dresses and they add so much to the look!
  • About the Shoe: These tie up espadrille sandals have been a staple for me the last couple of months and have been a great shoe to transition into Spring with since they have a closed toe. They also come in four other colors, so go check them out!

And that’s a wrap! Feel free to comment below with any questions that you have!

XO,

Hillary
